We are very excited to let you know about our enrichment week - “World Faith Week”. We begin our summer RE learning by moving on from learning about Christianity to learning about world religions and perspectives.
Each year group is focusing on a different faith. During the half term, all year groups will be visiting a place of worship or talking to representatives of different faiths.
Year 3 and 6 will be taking part in Hinduism and Buddhism learning workshops throughout the day on Tuesday 16th May.
Year 4 visited a synagogue on 2nd May
Year 5 are organising a visit to a mosque later in the term.
Throughout the week, Rev. Sam Denyer, the new St Cuthbert’s vicar will be meeting the children and working with each class to answer questions and discuss his faith and new role in our community and school.
Family members are invited to a sharing assembly on the 19th May at 9 am where you will also have the opportunity to meet Rev. Sam Denyer.
Your child will need a coat (if wet) and sensible shoes to walk to church.
Please could we appeal for volunteers to walk with us to and from church.
If you can please let your class teacher know you are available, we will be leaving at 1.30 pm. Hot meals will be available as normal on the day but if your child has a packed lunch please remember to put it in a disposable bag.
Children can be collected from St Cuthbert’s Church at the end of the service (please be there for 2.45pm); please can you make sure that the class teacher knows that you have collected your child.
