Once again, we are at that point in the year when we open our doors for the whole week as part of Family Learning Week. This year you can come in and see maths and English being taught across the different year groups as well as other curriculum areas such as science, music and PE.
We are including workshops in English, maths and Online safety for parents to increase their understanding of the statutory expectations required of children in different year groups.
As ever we are starting the week with a fun run. Miss Faulkes is going to plot a course around the school grounds for the children’s cross country course. Children will be running the course with any willing members of staff and parents.
Year 2 children will be starting their run on the afternoon of Monday 22nd May at 2.00pm. All of the juniors will then take part in their race at 2.30pm. The infants are welcome to stay and cheer the junior runners on.
Family Learning Week is open to all parents/carers and grandparents. You can come in to school to watch any lesson, your child does not need to be in the lesson you are watching. Please remember to sign in when you arrive and sign out when you leave. I would appreciate it if you could fill in an evaluation slip before you leave so we know what we can improve on next time.
The timetable for the week has been sent out with this letter but it will be on the school website so you can plan activities to come in to see.
We hope that you enjoy it as much as we do,
Thank you for your continuing support
Mrs Helen Mullinger
Your child will need a coat (if wet) and sensible shoes to walk to church.
Please could we appeal for volunteers to walk with us to and from church.
If you can please let your class teacher know you are available, we will be leaving at 1.30 pm. Hot meals will be available as normal on the day but if your child has a packed lunch please remember to put it in a disposable bag.
Children can be collected from St Cuthbert’s Church at the end of the service (please be there for 2.45pm); please can you make sure that the class teacher knows that you have collected your child.
