Welcome to our Junior School

I am very proud to extend a personal warm welcome on behalf of everyone at St Cuthbert’s Church of England Junior School.

We have a wonderful team who are committed to ensuring that we provide a friendly, inclusive and safe environment for everyone. As a Church of England Junior School we endeavour to encourage all members of our school community to learn and grow and give them the skills and strong Christian values to play a positive role within our community.

We pride ourselves on our open communication and partnerships with parents, teachers, Governors and the wider community. We acknowledge that nurturing, educating and supporting the children during this stage of their life journey is a team effort…..we are in this together.

We are fortunate to have extensive and beautiful grounds which make our school quite exceptional! We are at the heart of a vibrant community, providing a happy, secure and challenging environment, which helps our children achieve their highest potential.

Through our website we are delighted to be able to share information regarding all aspects of our school life with both existing and potential parents as well as the wider community. Browse through our site, download our prospectus, drop us a line or come to visit us.

We have been given an opportunity to take Everest & Himalayas to The Blue School for a Sports Festival on Wednesday 17th January 2018. The Festival starts at 1.35 pm and finishes at 3 pm. We will be leaving St Cuthbert’s at 1.15 pm and will be back at St Cuthbert’s before 3.20 pm. Please make sure your child brings their PE kit and a drink. We also need parents to walk to and from The Blue School please speak to your child's class teacher if you are able to help.

To continue the success of the WCLP Sports Festivals this year will see some of The Blue School Yr13 activity leaders filmed during their activity/leadership session. This will carried out in order to evaluate the quality of the students’ sessions and leadership to ensure that every student visiting The Blue School and its sports festivals is given the most memorable experience. It will also have added benefits for the sixth form students themselves as they will be able to use the footage as evidence for a vital assignment that must be completed as part of their Level 3 BTEC Sport Diploma

The footage will be stored on The Blue School system accessed only by Head of Sport, and their internal verifier and possible an external verifier should any students be called by the exam board.

If you do not  wish your child to be filmed please speak to your child’s class teacher.

Yours sincerely
